My venting has calmed down a little. Air con was a fault 'O' ring so cheap to sort out Wing mirror is patched up and looks like there has never been anything wrong with it (free fix - I did it) New resistor means setting 1 on the heater/blower now works (cheap fix - I fitted it) Exhaust is repaired but thankfully was one of the cheaper sections to replace Rear wiper and front/rear washer now working after I rewired it (cheapish fix) But best of all the parking sensors are fixed. I took off the rear light clusters and bumper (not an easy task) and checked every wire and connection. They all looked fine. Put it back together and gave up thinking the control box is broken. But when reversing the other day I lightly bumped a bag of cement someone left on the driveway/private road. After that the sensors working fine. Turns out I just needed to crash into something!

Ah, percussive maintenance in action. The fine art of whacking something until it works, or stops entirely.

Thankfully it's few and far between, doesnt help the project ballooned over the years and now has ~30 separate components

Hey, at least you get some documentation; that's more than I have in my current roll! Other delights include a database tabled that is populated with used car details (make, model, mileage, price etc.) with the rather memorable set of column headings of F1 through to F14. I've encountered web page includes that not only didn't have DOCTYPE declarations, they actively stripped out the DOCTYPE I'd tried to add in, zero commenting throughout the whole rambling mess, and the mass deployment of frames and the use of tables for layouts (plus a shed load of inline styling).

We started out with 0 documentation, we've spent time going through adding it in where we can. Seems quite similar to what I've got. Still, I'd take this and the other adopted project I work on over working at my old job any day

And that is why 2 factor authentication is a scheiß Idee, as we say in Germany! I finally got around to setting up 2 on my Google account this week, with it sending an SMS to my mobile. Today the mobile stopped working and I can't log onto my account, because it is sending SMS messages to the broken phone! Gah!
Which means I can't set up my old phone, because the SIM is a micro SIM and the old phone uses a normal SIM - I thought I could at least call up my audio book and podcasts for tomorrow morning, when I take the dog for a walk. No dice.

You have my sympathy for everything except the rear parking sensor. I'm of the opinion that people should be able to park without them. I hate it when things go wrong on cars. The hassle and expense of thixing them can be a real pain.

Yep, if you have a backup email you should be able to send email to that instead, IIRC there is a "I don't have my phone with me" option

Why do I get a registration screen every single time Logitech mouse controllers are updated?
