There are a few CD's listed that I have but I bought them from Tesco with cashback.

It'll be bloody handy for all the people with mobile devices especially. It's a win all round, you're much likelier to buy the CD if you know there's little hassle with transferring your tunes to your device.

It appears to have included all the CDs I've bought for other people as presents...

I bought my current shaving soap on 11 February 2011.
It's only just got to the stage where you can see a small circle of the wooden dish, should have another 6 months or so to go before I need to buy a refill.
This fact is incidental to me trying to work out how to rip my old amazon purchases.

When they do FLAC, then I'll be interested. I just don't use MP3 for new music any more.

I don't use any compressed formats for music unless I'm streaming stuff off the internet.

I opt for lossless compression, though need some compression as I have more than 78000 tracks which I think is more than 2000 CD's which if in compressed would swamp my 4tb music drive.

I can see this is nice to have and could be useful but it does leave me wondering exactly how lazy people are. I mean, if you've bought the physical CD and want it in mp3 as well then surely you just rip it yourself, which incidently also lets you choose the format rather than whatever Amazon picks for you.
Furthermore, as has been pointed out in this thread, if it lists stuff from CD's you bought for others does that not technically mean it's piracy? You presumably no longer own the original media so have no claim on the 'backup' mp3 copy of it. If I buy someone a CD I don't open it, rip the contents and then pass it on.

Thing is most people think CD ripping will be a faff and aren't nerds like us lol. God, you probably know yourself how often iTunes fcuks up on Windows machines.

As my computer at home is a Mac, no I don't. However, having experience they joy of trying to remove iTunes from my Dads PC I can appreciate it can be a royal pain the backside if it's not playing ball. Fair point about the nerds and CD ripping mind.
