Does this service allow you to put the music files in to iTunes, or do you have to user some sort of Amazon player?
Mark

Initially you have to use the amazon cloud player (i.e. a web page) but you can also download the tracks as MP3 files (via the amazon downloader app), which you can then do whatever you like with, more or less.

Has anyone imported any music to their Amazon autorip/cloud player?

Into the Cloud player, haven't had time to muck about though.

I have to say I don't understand all the bad press iTunes gets. I installed it on my PC when I bought my iPhone 3G on day of launch and have used it ever since without real issue. It did "lose" some of the tracks when I moved it's library to a different hard drive, but that was really easy to solve, just point the software to the correct location and it updated everything. Any other issues have been my fault, not that of the software.

Maybe I'm lucky, although that would be different :D

It even manages to break Outlook, due to QT somehow shafting something important. That's on Windows 7 and it's happened on two different PCs used by the only iPhone user at work.

I have had iTunes
Lose all the music - thankfully I back it all up
Duplicate all the music
it wont sync with Outlook calendar or contacts - a known problem so you have to do it via a 3rd party
For something that is supposed to the "window" into the Mac world it puts me of ever wanting to use a Mac

Have to agree with andythebatch, we've used iTunes for many years at my old workplace on Windows XP PCs with no issues at all. True, it's fugly, but it works fine for its intended use - not as slick as the equivalent version on a Mac, I'll grant you.

My sister, who will admit herself that she's the biggest luddite when it comes to anything connected with computers, regularly updates her own iPod with iTunes on a Windows Vista PC. Never had a single problem, which is surprising in itself, as she's always on the phone asking how to switch it off, print out an email, install system updates, and anything else you'd expect a beginner not to know. But iTunes, she's never had any issues with - no idea what all you lot are doing to your PCs to break iTunes, but I imagine it's because it's Apple that you see it as a challenge that you have to break it! (OK, I'm joking... or am I?)

I'll just throw this out there: maybe subconsciously you're willing iTunes not to work, because it's Apple?

Having worked in IT for many years there is something to be said for personal vibes. My vibes are particularly strong and I have been able to fix something over the phone in Paris before. And of course whenever I get to a users' desk the faulty thing usually just starts to work

Burning a CD after installing their downloader but unfortunately it's linked to WMP, so I need to see what's best in future if I can get around that.
