More work hijinks - I'll just have that Malteasers Bar in the fridge, the one kindly bought for me, the one I'll be trying for the first time. Oh, someone's stolen it

Was it the same person who got you to help with the earlier delivery?

Lol, I hope not.

Maybe the delivery ruse was meant to allow the Malteasers thief access to the target snack.

Bloody TalkTalk or thieving gyppos? Either way, I've had no broadband today which, for someone who is trying to start working from home, doing web design, is not a good thing

Major Incident - Customers in the Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire areas will be unable to use their phone or broadband services due to Stolen Cabling which BT Openreach are working to resolve.

"Now this has to be a future Olympian! How many kids could swim that good at such a young age?"

MSN "News"

Swim that good? Swim that good?

:x :x :x :x :x

and yes, it's because I accidentally logged out of Hotmail, not because I ever visit the site consciously, but even a split second of reading has pissed me off. Worst internet site.

I think m'learned friend is referring to the poor use of the English language.

The child, at a remarkably early age, is able to swim well, not good. ;)

And Heather jumps right in with the answer. Funny that. Oh sorry... that is funny :)

Are all web designers nerds with no concept of reality?

Basic design principles. I think designers have forgotten that the internet, to THE MAJORITY is not fun, it never can be, it is a TOOL for finding INFORMATION.

Flickr, I promised my mum, is a place to store photos.

Brilliant she said.

But Flickr is a mess of noise.

Quote:
Smile.
Everyone gets a free terabyte.
Sign up for Flickr

Biggr. That's right, a terabyte.
Spectaculr. Share in full resolution.
Wherevr. Available anywhere you go.

Biggr

Others measure in gigabytes, Flickr guarantees 1,000x. An actual terabyte. For free.

That's 500,000 photos* to share and enjoy in their original, brilliant quality. To be exact, 537,731.

Snap away.

* Assuming the resolution of today's most commonly used smartphones
1 terabyte = 537,731 6.5 megapixel photos

You what? That screen greets you, blocks off all acess to the normal menu buttons, and greets wyou with that wall of technological specs, and badly-spelled words. SMile? Go [LIFTED] yourself, where do I put my photos? Where's the button I [LIFTED] press?

You eventually navigate all that pissing about by calling in your son again who is competent at using the internet (ie ignoring the 99% [LIFTED] and knowing the only important, vaguely interesting button is "sign in")#

So you've signed in and it says something

IN [LIFTED] ROMANIAN

*smug voice* now you know how to say "hello in Romanian*...

AMAZING! If i was a posing student whearing a sari in Starbucks, I'D GIVE A [LIFTED].

But no, I want to USE the WEBSITE to PUT PHOTOS ON.

I've spent years telling my mum it's all in English, just read what all the words say, and they throw ROMANIAN into the works on the [LIFTED] homepage.

and so on.

Does Yahoo! not sound like it's serious about Flickr? Or anything...

It's a bit like Tango, only less orangey.

Flickr has always done the "hello" in different languages. It's not new.

Have spent the last hour being plagued by a frikkin mozzie, that stopped every time I turned on the light. It's far too late to go back to sleep, so I'm going to feel knackered all day; but at least I killed the hateful little tw@t.

Jesus fcuking Christ on a Boris bike. If it's not some twat outside with a bass drum it's that fcuked-up spastic of a father slowly dismantling the house as nosily as possible.
