FFS. Everything worked fine this morning. No changes and now can't get online from laptop, PC or iPhone. Router tells me it is connected to the internet. Devices tell me they're connected to router and can see the internet.
Programs can't see/access the internet.
Tried rebooting router Ipconfig /release /flushdns /renew Plusnet homepage states no probs and my account looks fine.
Struggling to see what else it could be. Ideas?

I don't think I can offer too much technical assistance but a couple of weeks back I was getting constant drop offs, with PlusNet.
I was told that I had several sessions from my router that should have cancelled but hadn't. They were causing some sort of problem and the solution apparently was to switch off the router and leave without power for just over an hour. I don't think the PlusNet guy was [LIFTED] me and the router worked without problems afterwards. Just a thought.
I'd say though that the router seems to be the obvious area to look at.
Good luck.

If you do a trace to Google, how far does it get?
Tracert 8.8.8.8

Dunno about tracert but when I rang ping, I got 75% packet loss. Switched off router for a couple of hours whilst I went to buy a cheapo temp replacement from pc world and sods law it works fine.
The draytek router is now 3.5 yrs old. Is it worth replacing?

Doesn't that suggest other wireless networks or interference is blocking packets of data to your wireless network? I had something similar a few months back and changing wireless channels on the router solved it for now - trouble is, there's so many wireless networks in my neighbourhood it's bound to happen again at some point. Tried changing the channel on the DrayTek?

I'd say it's an issue with either the line or ISP especially if it resolved itself after leaving it off for more than 30 mins (the session limit for most ADSL ISP's)

Okay will raise the issue with the ISP and see if there's a known problem.

Ran the isp troubleshooter on their website. They showed me the connection graph which looked solid until I had power cycled several times and then it was solid thereafter.
Didn't have issues for two weeks and now it's happened again. I could run tracert and ping (will post up once I can get back on the internet via router) and they worked fine. Strangely enough, I could run ping and tracert if connected wirelessly but not if wired. This time I couldn't log into the router either.
So now am suspecting the router. Have left it switched off for 30 mins and will see what happens.
