Nobody is using Netflix to watch the latest movies, I'll tell you that

But yeah, I'd say a lot of people are using Sky etc. I've always meant to try Lovefilm's streaming service...

Who here uses streaming services for TV and films? I've got Netflix, but mostly for the entire TV runs rather than the films. I wouldn't pay for stuff individually.

I use iPlayer and youtube for episodes of shows (like Conan the Adventurer) but other than that, no VoD.

I use TV catchup as my main source. My TV only goes on once every three months now. Then VoD for things that clash and that I have not being able to watch on the +1 services.

A mate of mine does use Netflix on his iPad however he gets the US version (in UK) by using a VPN in the States.

The US version of Netflix is much better than the UK version.

Now that is something I could be interested in but I would need a US bank account to manage it I think.

My video recorder stopped working in the mid 90s. Since then, I have not recorded anything and I've not used any video on demand or catch up services. I haven't seen anything on TV in the last 10 years or so, that I would pay to watch or that I would strive to get home in time to watch, let alone worry about trying to use a catch up service or pay to view.

Virtually everything is on PVR unless maybe some live sport.

iPlayer and the The Daily Show player on the Comedy Central website. The rest is either recorded or downloaded.

I have other things to do, and I don't like being tied to a TV schedule, so VoD kinda works for me; I just don't use it a lot.

+1 to that - oh and the news is live as watching that 3 weeks later seems a bit pointless ;)

Sky has now launched Sky Go Extra where they want to charge you a further £5 a month for the ability to download on Sky Go.

Rip off!

Luckily I can't remember the last time I watched something on there so won't need it.

Actually to be fair, they 'extra' stuff is more mobile devices 'paired' at once and a couple of other things. if you've got one PC and one mobile, you don't need to pay the fiver a month.

I use iPlayer and it’s ilk - usually through the iPad streaming to the TV. Oddly, the picture quality is better than the same service on the PS3. Some find it the other way round. I am one of the many who are wondering why iPlayer is on a native Apple TV app.

I’ve not fallen into the Netflix/Love Film trap. The idea of another monthly subscription for watching TV seems wrong to me. I’d rather buy the DVDs to be honest. I also note that HBO does not put its content onto such services (or even iTunes), so the only legit way of watching Game of Thrones is to buy the DVDs or subscribe to Sky Atlantic - for which you need a satellite dish on the house.

My viewing is mainly on the iPad, and like you have yet to be convinced by Netflix or Lovefilm, though might consider it if I were ever to get Amazon Prime.
