That also gives a huge benefit for buyers as they will not be left with a device that will be unusable in a few months.

Xbox One games can be played while downloading

It might be an idea to give people the option of downloading firmware in the background and then asking if they actually wanna install it - both MS and Sony have a long history of temporarily bricking machines.

The basic idea is sensible but it needs to be thought through. It should have an option to be delayed or not started at all.

It is a mistake. Smaller developers will be more adventurous in terms of games design and so attract a broader range of customers, which will be beneficial to Microsoft in the longer term.

It looks like Microsoft are still messing up. 15 minutes is a better option of you want to upload a clip. You might not realise the relevance of your gameplay till later. So 15 minutes is better. It is interesting to see how Microsoft are not dealing with free to play as well as developers would like. If they did this properly a lot of free to play games could significantly improve sales of the console.

However, during an E3 2013 analyst call, EA exec Peter Moore said he doesn't expect game prices to increase next-gen.

"You see a $60 price for a next-gen game whereas we believe [with digital downloads] we can get $70, $80, $90 from the consumer, but it's a $60 price point," he noted.

Clearly expecting a lot of revenue to come from DLC. I think that they might be far too optimistic, especially with second tier games.

At £150 it's no surprise they sold out, but it does seem rather strange. I guess they weren't shifting at a profitable price.

I'd have snapped one up, but the damned games are still so expensive...

I think some of the older titles can now be had for around £15, but it depends what you're after I spose.
