What lovely happy couples Although bizarrely I now have "The Knack, My Sharona" in my head, with Corolla substituted for Sharona. That's going to be annoying me all day.

I'm still keeping my Mum's Fiesta that's now called the retro car (it has a tapedeck lol). Think it's from 90s but only has 19k on the clock. Perfect for a second car little run around.

Are you sure your mum had not clocked it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

Positive. A lorry crashed in to her car and she was never confident about driving after that.

The Yeti is here. As it was an ex-demo, it has a low mileage and all the bells and whistles. Still would lose in a drag race against mine, but it's an excellent vehicle. Certainly more practical.

The car was collected yesterday. Being an ex demo, it has all the mod cons, as well as a frighteningly low mileage - less than 3000.
I expect to last many years - more than the Zafira. She's very happy with it, and I expect at some time I'll be allowed to have a go.

I hate reversing cameras. In first used one whilst test driving a Prius. I was reversing back into the parking sport on the forecourt and I was nearly in the spot, when I slammed the brakes on, because I suddenly thought how stupid it was. Looking in the mirror, I was a couple of cm from driving into the car next to me, which you couldn't even see in the camera!
The problem is, you need to look in the mirrors and over your shoulder, even with the camera, but the camera is distracting and they are usually placed in the radio, which is the worst place to have them, because they are too low and in the middle of the vehicle, with you looking forward and down, so you can't keep the mirrors in view of see obstacles at the side of the vehicle.
The one in the Verso is better, it is integrated into the side of the rearview mirror - when you are going forward or have it turned off, you have a full mirror, if you reverse with it on, it appears in the corner of the mirror, taking up about a quarter of the area of the mirror. But it has also nearly caught me out once. I often turn it off, when reversing into spot.

I've had a reversing camera in the Golf for about 3-4 years now. Love it. It integrates into the badge mechanism for the rear hatch and yes it displays on the satnav. Have never been caught out because I still look in my blind spots, wing mirrors and reversing mirror. The only thing it replaces is having to look over the shoulder and through the rear window.
