One of our next door neighbours is fine. We get on with them no problems. We haven't spoken to the neighbours on the other side for about 5 years. I really don't miss speaking to them.

I caught a bit on TV this morning saying that the fact that noisy children feature highly as a source of complaint is that kids just don't play outside much anymore and it's something we're no longer used to hearing. Parents are afraid that there's a paedophile behind every tree plus they are worried that the noise of their kids playing would upset neighbours anyway. It's the summer school holidays now and I can't hear any children playing outside at all.

When I was young  my friends and I couldn't wait to get outside with a football or go cycling (on our Penny Farthings, of course), etc.

From the 'Spotted Torquay' facebook page:
"I am disgusted that every time I look out my window at 9 am in the morning or I'm off out with my children that I always see the same 3 year old playing out on the road I live in a close but cars are coming down and up all the time.. Do you not care what happens to your child and at 3 years old he should not be playing out anyway let alone on his own the parents need some parenting big time because this makes me upset every time I see it him wondering on roads on his own at his age please sort it out or I might just call social services as clearly you are not looking after your children as you should be sort it out!!!!"

So some kids are still playing outside, and people are upset about it.

There are some people who will have the same attitude when the kids are 16.

Someone rides a modern Penny Farthing through one of the parks here. One day, I’ll photograph him, but he goes through so fast....
