Am I the only one who find it a bit strange for a homeless person to have a mobile phone?

Not really many would still be able to maintain as normal a life as possible with one, such as meeting friends or family. Imagine if you would be made homeless what would you keep with you.

Let's not forget looking for a job. It was a Nokia which was worth about £50 which suggests that it was a cheap payg handset.

It is exceptionally hard to get a job when you are homeless. You need a base of some kind be it a hostel of some kind. If you are homeless you cannot get a bank account, without a bank account you cannot get paid.
