Been to the beer festival again but during the day so hopefully I won't have been bitten by the mozzies as much this time (or preferably not at all).

I really wish I had something more exciting to do today than laundry and gardening but that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess. Have a great bank holiday folks.

I live five minutes walk from the station and from there it's twenty minutes to work by train. I've been on holiday for a fortnight, and as of 7am this morning I was on call. I therefore wanted to be in nice and early (07:01 train, as normal, or maybe the one before) to work out what the systems look like now I'm supporting them, as I can see there's been lots of changes in the last fortnight. I wake at 05:30 (luckily my alarm was still set to fake-french-time), and TheFrenchun informs me the trains are knackered because of overrunning engineering works (again). Leaving the house at just before 06:00, it takes me nearly 2 hours to get to work (heading south to go north). And then we've run out of crappy coffee (and I didn't make a coffee before I left as I wanted to rush to get to a train). This is quite a grumpy Edward.

First one in the office today so I'm loading the jukebox up with what I want to listen to for the next 6 hours or so

A definite hint of autumn in the air this morning.

After a massive - for us, at least - session of clearing crap out over the weekend, w shall be heading out to the dump later. Then we've got some stuff to take over to the local Cats Protection for their charity stuff. Then we will either pick up some prescriptions and go and get some food in, or we'll head out and buy a new AV amp and speakers. Maybe we'll do both. Not sure yet.

On the modelling side, I've got another new client. This means I have projects lined up on the bench into the new year.

Having buggered my back yesterday things appear to be settling back down a bit now. Fingers crossed it carries on.

So my back seems to be a bit grumpy about me sleeping in my bed - sitting up seems to be much more preferable.

Yesterday was a day of good and bad.

It was good because the sun was shining, and Best Beloved had finally accepted we should replace the AV amp and speakers that had been outmoded by the HDMI world.

It was bad because I bought a tin of red paint when I wanted white, and the new amp has made obsolete three pieces of audio equipment, even though we never really used them any more anyway.

Today, I shall return the paint and get the right colour. Muppet.
