Yes a much better back up. Has there been a problem where the lines are cut? Also would the 3G be impacted by a local outage? As for bombing your office so you can work from home is a bit of overkill. Or are duvet days that evil?

Lines are cut all the time by certain people thieving the copper. It does not matter who your provider is when that happens, but 3g will usually carry on.
I always work from home these days.

An incentive for BT to replace as much as possible with fibre as soon as possible.

I said that back in 2007, they should pull out all the copper themselves, selling it for scrap to fund the laying of fibre...
The one problem we have, using the second line, is that we have half a dozen fixed IP addresses on our line and it isn't easy to re-route those on the fly - especially as the second line is from another provider, they don't like it, when other provider 'steal' their addresses.

Our middle kitty Mac. When I woke up this morning he was limping, seemingly out of nowhere but he's really not putting any weight on his front right foot. I've kept him inside today to rest and I'm hoping he'll get better but I'm worrying about him all the same.

People still nick it. Lots of the train signalling 'cable' that gets nicked is fibre, but people don't know/realise until the damage is done.

I have a backup 3G, but the ip addresses are the issue. I've only ever had two hours downtime in the last thirteen years. I guess I'm paying for it now with five days.

I never knew that. You would have thought that they would realise with the weight of the cable? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Lovefilm Instant's as bad as Netflix, really. God help us if that's the future, and Sky etc have little to worry about.

You have to laugh when The Matrix is in the 'just added' section though.
