If there's no baffles, it wouldn't take as much as we'd think I reckon. If you've slowed to 31mph or it's a long bend, for example, I'd imagine there'd still be a significant movement of the load, and with trucks that size small percentage changes can have big consequences.

I imagine they're like separators inserted in the tanker/fuel tanks/etc that stop the liquid load from sloshing around too much, keeping the CoG more stable. That's the usage I've heard in the past, from someone who designed aviation fuel tanks.

Yes but a full load should not have much room to move even without baffles. Inertia is a factor that would be enough to cause a roll.

Got the dog back from the kennels yesterday. He now has a tumour on his left eyelid. :( ( not the kennels fault, but was a nasty surprise, when my fiancé went to pick him up.)
