Not really. Previous employment finished on 6th (with remaining holiday paid for) - notice was given required 4 weeks before this date. Next employment just doesn't start until 16th.

So payment in lieu of holiday and a week off unpaid to balance it out.

I put that as a 2 income household then

It absolutely is. In fact there's more holiday pay than the week being taken. We weren't being at all serious (8-)

Sorry if that didn't come across.

Reached a new low this morning by shouting and arguing with a self-service till in Morrisons which gobbled my money and didn't register it had done so. Ever tried proving to a shop assistant that you've put money in when the screen says otherwise?!!

You probably don't need proof, it's probably the store's policy just to give you the money if you say you've lost it. I used to have to give £20 change to someone who I knew had given me a £10 note, store policy not to doubt the customer.

I wonder how many people abuse that?

If someone gave me the wrong change I do give it back. In small shops they take it from the staffs wages, and if they are on minimum wage it will hurt them. I still do not take the wrong change if I notice it at any store.

That's why a lot of people on tills leave the notes you give then on top of the till until you've accepted your change. That way there can be no arguments over what they were given.

Morning.

Really odd nightmarish dreams just before I woke this morning. Unsettling, especially as I was more aware as I began to surface. :|

I quoted to build a large collection of models yesterday. I don't know if the quote will be accepted, but let's just say you it was five digits and no decimal point. :D

We'll see. Anyway, I'm really happy about the way this career diversion is going. After the last couple of years of doom and gloom, things are looking up.

It could be just a dream, though.

Happy Friday!

Really, really pleased for you Heather. You deserve it :D
