Cool :) ill go ask the school next week. I need a bike to commute in London~ 30 miles a day. Any recommendation on cc?

Depends on your preferred riding style but something like a CBR600 is good for traffic.

However you may want a 450cc bike as they get heavy above that and you don't want a bike you can't pick up

Don't want to rain on your parade but I rode a bike on the road until I was 30, it was hell. I ended up braking every time I saw a car at a junction. After every journey I was so tensed up it was exhausting. I had been a competitive motorcross rider since my teens and I regarded that as safer than road riding! Take care and ride defensively.

Get hold of good quality gloves, helmet, boots and wet weather gear too, its essential. 30 miles is a fair trip as a commuter, you will get quite cold in winter.
Your bike needs to be comfortable too, something you can sit on with both feet on the ground and light enough to pick up when you drop it. Look at those step through scooter type things. Shaft or belt final drive as chains need lots of maintenance. Bikes do need lots of maintenance compared to cars, don't skimp. I could go on and on and on but I'm afraid it would just put you off :)

Always wear protective clothing - trousers and jacket. When I got knocked off, my leg was crushed between the car and bike. I walked away from the accident, but the car was a mess, crumpled bonnet, crumpled wing, broken lights... and that was before I got mad

I had been going to the cinema and was going to wear jeans, but the ones downstairs were still damp and I couldn't be bothered to go stairs for another pair, so I put on my leathers. Since then, I wouldn't get on a bike without wearing protective clothing.

I always found bike riding exhilarating and a great way to relax, even after the accident. Yes, you have to ride defensively, but if you have had the training and can anticipate what others are going to do, it is still great fun.

After I made my licence, I joined an internet based riding club and we rode all over Europe. From Southampton I've ridden down to Provence, Tirol, Czech Republic and all over Germany.

I've almost finished my first website for a client. I have to put some SEO stuff on there, and maybe change a photo', if she sends me another to replace it with, and I need to tell the client how to access her emails, but aside from that, it's finished and she loves it!

If anyone wants to have a look,I'll post the address in the next couple of days, once I'm sure she's ready to start using the site.

I've emailed the lady with instructions on how to access her webmail. If anyone wants to see my handiwork, the address is

If you want to give me some feedback that would be great.

Do you really need that opening page? Otherwise it works on Safari and for me that is a plus.

Not so sure about that green background wallpaper.

The green background behind the pricing is off putting. It also makes the text hard to read.

Technically it is great, not so sure about the colour combinations, but that is more designer skills. Maybe the designers in the forum could give their views?

Some bits for me...
- As mentioned, splash pages are terrible :) Friends don't let friends make splash pages for sites (even if they are entirely flash based), it skews your analytics and you'd be surprised how many people will see it and go elsewhere
- The site is quite narrow and doesn't fill the screen that much on a larger screen
- The brown makes the yellow/gold text hard to read and the green background is quite distracting on the eye.
- The homepage slider is far too big, on a 27" 2560x1440 screen it takes up most of the space (and the bottom right logo on images/fslide00.jpg is blurry and really shows up there). I'd be tempted to make use of the width and responsive elements you have by breaking up the items in the slider into sections and using the CTA for something else than a slideshow as it's not actually a CTA as you can't interact with it apart from changing the images
- I'd make pages for the sliders to link to so there is something to interact with
- The SEO is rather weak as you know, barring page titles etc. I'd suggest she improves her presence online with a G+ account, then you can link that to her to improve the perceived quality of the site and any articles posted. it utilises the meta author and meta-owner tags (especially with facebook/twitter that kind of cross referencing improves ranking).
- Did you look at it on a mobile? The headers and primary nav take up almost the entire screen on my S3
- There are inconsistent font sizes in the site, the contact us page is an example of that (big body text, small form labels)
- neuro_home.html I can't read that table without having to really zoom in at a normal reading size, the font needs more weight for that colour scheme.

I've noticed there are testimonials, things like that are great to have on the homepage in conjunction with a CTA to scroll through them

You also appear to be missing a google analytics token :)

It isn't possible to go to the Services pages on a tablet. You use a drop down (hover) but you can't hover with a finger.

If you are going to use hover to drop down a menu, at least have the menu itself appear when you click on the hover item (i.e. when you click on Services, it opens up a services page with the sub options on it).

The rest pretty much as Finlay says. The title and the images take up more than a screen full on my tablet. On the splash screen, only the top third of the 'click to enter' is visible on screen (1366*768)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'll try and respond to all of the points I can remember...

The colour scheme. It's what the client wants and she is delighted with it. I can only recommend, and ultimately the decision is not mine to make. The wallpaper was one she had sent me, which she had designed for the site. Again, she loves it. I will talk to her about the splash page...

I didn't mean to leave the links on the slideshow in place. They were originally going to link to pages, but that plan has changed. the links have been removed, but I'm not in a position to upload the page until tonight.

Services page: has been done. Again, needs to be uploaded.

Homepage slider size: It looks fine on a 21" screen, my Galaxy Note, the client's iPhone and the 50" TV.

There is no SEO in place yet. This is the final task, but I wanted the site in place so she could see it in action. I'll do that in the next few days.

I'll have another look at the text size, as I need to discuss a few things with the client, so will weave this into the conversation.

The big menu. Again, she likes this, but I'll show her a hamburger menu...

Thanks again guys.

Can you also get rid of the green background on the table? Makes it impossible to read the gold text

Guardian is running an article ( ill find the link later) saying that men are inherently unable to do housework. I thought it was progressist?

Men can do housework. They just do it badly deliberately so the woman thinks she's better off doing it herself.
