I'm a black t with some sort of geek/rock reference on it, dark blue jeans, white trainers sorta guy. Dark brown boots if the weather's especially bad. Coat's a black leather jacket as I'm big in every way lol. Most of the outfit isn't through choice but comfort or necessity. I'm sure I'm a sight to behold...

During the summer I am a T Shirt and shorts person, though that can extend until quite late into the year as I am able to resist the cold quite well.

Day to day wear:

T-Shirt - black or white or for some obscure band
On colder days a long sleeve top with a round neck (never a v-neck)
Jeans - either dark blue (not faded or ones that look like they are made out of that crap denim your mum bought for you in the 70s) or black, narrow leg but not really skinny fit.
Zip-fastening jackets or various thicknesses depending on the weather - black or other very dark colour.
Black socks
Black shoes or boots, or leather Converse (never trainers)

For more formal occasions:

Something that vaguely resembles a suit and shirt but made out something less conventional or cut/detailed in a more funky style. Never wear a tie.

For playing with the band:

Black, white or red t-shirt with some appropriate rock/punk/psychobilly design on it. Never a band T-shirt.
Made to measure leather or PVC trousers.
Black boots, pointed and/or with buckles studs etc.
Customised leather jacket
Faux aviators (cheap ones that still let me see in low-lighting conditions on stage).

These days it's getting harder than ever to find clothes that I like because of my size (5'6" and although I'm not as elegantly wasted as I was 30 years ago I'm still fairly slim) so all of my wardrobe is either very cheap, very expensive or made to measure. Yesterday I was looking for new T-shirts and even "small" in mens sizes was in most instances too long and loose on me.

I love "jobs" where either the uniform is provided (as currently), or I wear my own casual stuff. I hate owning ties and shirts. Too expensive and too much effort to conform. Almost everything now is geared towards practicality (breathability, dryness, durability) and comfort. I only wear wool socks now and rarely a non-wool t shirt. Too many clothes are a distraction from who I am.

But everybody's different and I love when people have a noticeable "style" of their own. Prof is one such person whom I enjoy in that way! 8-)

Now I work nights I can wear what the bloody hell I want to wear, that's not to say I'm scruffily dressed, but I could be if I so wanted to be.

I disagree.
When I was working day shift we had a code to wear trousers and a shirt, but within that remit we could pretty much do what we wanted to.
As long as the shirt had a collar (most of mine didn't and that was also OK as they were clearly proper shirts and not t-shirts) and the trousers weren't either blue or black denim, we were left to our own devices.
It had nothing to do with caring about the job - most people here wouldn't actively show they cared by wearing smart clothes - it has more to do with how you want to present yourself to your co-workers, or how you want to look in general.

You don't have a client facing job, and dressing within rules shows that you don't want to get fire for a stupid reason.

I've worn what I want to work for as long as I can remember. That comes with the territory of having a job in media.

I don't wear skirts. I'm frequently under desks plugging in cables and don't want to flash anything lol.
