Don't worry, the clip is a couple of years old.

150m isn't 'long range'. Any trained solider should be able to hit a man sized target if given time to aim with standard sights. It's certainly not a range any trained sniper would consider a challenge. And the talk of hitting targets at 3000m is kind of irrelevant - there probably isn't a rifle in the world that has an effective range of 3000m, So even if you could hit the target you probably couldn't really hurt them. There are limits to the physics of bullets which fancy optics can't change. What it's effectively doing (in sniping terms) is automating the step where the sniper assesses local conditions (snipers carry kit to measure temperature, air pressure, wind speed and direction etc) and feeds that into a ranging computer or look it up in a shooting table which then tells them what elevation and deflection to add to the shot - which they tend to do via graded markings on the sight optics or readjusting the sight seating. So its an upgrade rather than a game changer IMO. I think it might be interesting in changing 'snap shot' accuracy. Not sure though. Plus of course armies will still train soldiers to shoot without it anyway, because they're always paranoid about electronic kit breaking.

I missed the part where they're selling this to armies. My impression was that this was going to be a general public 'sports' shooter kind of gadget.

I don't see the application in sports shooting - surely the point of that is to see whose the best shot? Hunting, possibly. Guaranteeing a one shot kill on whatever prey you're after has some value.

Yeah, I made that about 38 seconds in total.
