I am glad that I do not have a car with all the problems that they bring.

+1, the expense and the 'Oh, what's fcuking wrong with you today, then?' aspect would tip me over the edge

While I would love a nice car, I really do not have much use for one. If really needed to drive anywhere I can always hire a car or if I needed one more regularly I might join a car share scheme. Most of the time I get anything and everything delivered. I only have to walk out the door for fresh fruit and veg and diary items which can be bought locally. Anything else I need I can order online and get delivered. While some might think I am weird for not having a car I do not have the expense and issues over insurance.

Hmm.. Do you have to use a satnav all the time when you do drive? Is setting off then forgetting where you were supposed to be going ever an issue?

Never really used a sat nav. If I am driving to the airport to collect someone I only need to follow the road signs. That will get me to the airport without a problem. It is usually only the last leg of any journey that I will need to use a road map. If worst comes to happen I can use my iPhone to locate myself and then program in a route with one of the apps. I passed my driving test only 6 weeks after my memory loss. It was all in there and so the inability to make new memories was not a problem.

Get comparable quotes to show it's worth more, I got £1100 for a car I paid £800 when it suffered about £1600 worth of rear frame damage in an accident

Well Glass's say between £1985 and £2345 and on Auto Trader you're looking at between £1800 and £2000 but of course it varies on mileage, etc and there are a grand total of 4 for sale in the country. Mine has a full service history, low mileage and is very good mechanically but a bit of light damage to the front bumper so I was expecting closer to the Glass's upper amount. They've come in at £1645.
I said no.
Still waiting.

As it's a rare car I suggest getting it valued by a dealer if you know one, condition matters a lot as well as mileage so the perceived value could be higher. I'd also push for a courtesy car if you haven't already (same size as yours if possible, when mine was written off I wasn't old enough to get the size I drove), it's amazing how quick they change their price when they are paying £50 a day for you to remain mobile

I got a courtesy car. Had it since Wednesday which is more surprising they're dragging their heels.

The question is, what led up to the driver breaking the biker's leg? Was it purely an accident, did they provoke him, or had he being acting like a tit? If it was purely an accident, then I'd probably have chased after him for fleeing from the scene of an accident and tried to stop him. Then he runs over a bike, probably worth over $10K, I'd definitely want to make him stop, until police could arrive and arrest him. What happened after that is inexcusable.
