I hardly drink now, I've got bottles of unopened booze in my cupboard that I've had for years.
When I do drink though it's quite a lot

I go to work drinks farely often but seldom drink in between.
However having shares in a brewery I do try so support the business and go up to Camden fairly regularly. My favourite tipple is still cider though.

I used to drink a lot. It made me happy.
Now I can't drink at all. This makes me sad.

Sorry to hear that. Is that for medical, financial or SHMBO reasons?

On a school night I might have 1 or 2 drinks if I fancy it. At weekends I might drink more but it depends on what we're doing. 2 reasons we drank a lot recently: Disco / BBQ at cousins that went on until about 3am Big night out in London which went on until about 3am

Those are perfectly valid reasons but I suspect that puts rather a lot of us in the binge drinking category.

A couple of years out of Uni I still liked to go a little crazy at the weekend. That slowed down after my back injury (strong painkillers and booze aren't the best combination!) and when I stopped smoking I stopped drinking altogether for a while as a pint would have resulting in lighting up. Since then I hardly drink at all. I had a few interesting nights before/during/after my wedding in 2011 but that's it really.

As a rule, and like hifidelity2, I generally don't drink at all in the house unless I have visitors. As I live alone I have the feelign that drinking on my own would be a slippery slope. I usually go to the pub once a month after the trades council meeting and that's usually a faily heavy session (ohh, binge drinking - not as hard as it used to be mind). Other than that it generally has to be a night out (or in) with some friends. There's usually some serious carnage when I go back up to my parents and see my mates from back home.

As wrong as it may sound, I tend to find alcohol is the answer to a great many problems for at least a while.
I definitely drink more than I used to. But the pricing in the UK is a great reason to sober up.
Can't wait to get back to Italy!

These days I drink a lot more than I used to, normally when at my band's gigs.
Just before I went to university I got extremely drunk which caused me to give up alcohol completely for about 5 years. After that I was a complete light-weight and would get drunk very easily. It's taken me almost 30 years to build up the sort of tolerance where I can keep with my friends by drinking halves while they drink pints.
TBH though I can take or leave alcohol. I never drink unless I'm out and in company. When I've been very busy with work in the past I've gone for months without a drink.
Unfortunately for me alcohol doesn't have the required loosening up of inhibitions. I'm still far too self-concious right up the the point where I'm then too ill to do anything except sit down and look ill...

I used to drink regularly in excess, around seven or eight years ago. These days I drink a little, one beer with friends on a Thursday. At the weekend I'll share one bottle of wine with my wife on a Friday night. Although recently I drank a little to much at a friends BBQ, they now have photo's and video of me running around with no trousers on for a laugh.

It is a great solution for a short period but not always a good one for more than a couple of days.

I drink much less than I used to but the quality and price has gone up. You just can't beat a nice 15 year old single malt unless its an 18 year old or higher.
