So what's your good news? What's happened this year to make you smile?

I'm pleased to report that my new job is going well. I like the people I'm working with, and although the hours are long it's mostly quite interesting.

The aircon now works in the car, which is a blessed relief. I'm not good with heat, and soaked in sweat is not a good image to present to a customer.

I got my first pay cheque since February on Friday :)

All my major organs appear to be functioning within normal parameters.

I've only had 3 power cuts this month, and they were so brief I hardly noticed.

I finally built the shed I bought two years ago, with a lot of help from KW.

My tomato plants have grown a lot and are covered in flowers, and I think I may have courgettes ready very soon.

There is a specially imported German yeast sleeping in my fridge, awaiting a delivery of malted wheat. This should lead to much joy.

I have bacon.

I have a BA (Hons).

I have finally finished moving out of my house, stress relief.

I am at my parents house for a few days, which means being cooked food and generally not having "responsibilities".

I no longer have to put up with my ******* housemates from tomorrow night :D

I am practically completely moved out of my room, all my important stuff is at my dads

Car is '<still> going, despite the french need to have funky electronics, and although the aircon doesnt work it does still return good mpg

Hopefully going to get my full MCTS qualification when I get my reading done for my 2nd exam

Got paid on thursday

Managed to get a job for the summer with some decent hours (30+ a week), which means I'll be able to build up about a grand before going back to Uni - which I should be spending on obtaining my driving licence and saving the rest, but will most likely go on buying me a shiny Mac, if only a second-hand Intel one. :)

Other than that I got my 2nd year Uni. results, and despite having to take 2 months out due to illness I only have one re-sit to take, which I was quite happy with. I also have a cracking idea for my dissertation, so I'm hoping that will go well too.

On my final note, I'm in a really good place in my love life at the moment, things in this area just seem to keep getting better (apart from the fact that I won't see her 'til September, though she is taking me to see Michael McIntyre in Cardiff :D).

So all in all I'm fairly happy at the moment :).

Best Beloved's diabetes is under control, and he's happy.

I'm happy that he's happy. :)

Last night we made some plans for a week away. We're getting quotes organised for our bathroom refit.

Both cars are functioning happily, apart from BB's motor where the aircon is broken. He doesn't seem to care, since he rarely goes anywhere in it.

I published a small local history book for a friend last week, had it printed via Lulu.com. It looks the DB's and now I'm considering putting together a photo portfolio to see if I can get some work coming my way.

Good thread, JJ. There's so much doom and gloom going around.

I hosted a weekend for Nick Miners and a work colleague of mine (Colin O'Hara) taking pictures of the Antrim coast and yesterday we published the book of images.
Northern Ireland by Camera.
I've a trip to the Lake District planned for October and I'm trying to get another one planned for just before then.
Photography rocks.

I have passed the 3rd year of my BSc Hons course, (not great marks, but it's a relief to get through it)

Mrs. V. has her staples removed today.

It's PAY(the bills) day!

What an awesome thread JJ! :)

My ankle is steadily improving and I was able to return to ninjutsu for a one-off training session a couple of weeks ago. I am now off the crutches and can walk short distances with very little trouble.

I've just had the most awesome weekend away with friends at a car show in Leicestershire. I was able to laugh, drink and relax for the first time in many months with a group of people I only see twice a year at VW events.

The sun is shining and my new job, whilst incredibly frustrating at times, means that I no longer sit in an office and can appreciate the sometimes sub-tropical climate that my home county has to offer.

Can I just say thanks to everybody for sharing and letting me share. What a lovely thing it is to do that :)

I'd like to add another one...

I struggled most of yesterday with a new logo for a client. Today, the pieces fell together and I've got at least three different treatments of two different logos sorted, and the bonus is it'll work in almost any colour you like.

*does a little dance, but not enough to break into a sweat*

My order from scan was apparently delayed last night (according to an email from them), looked on citylink this morning and it's on it's way here. :D

Start my new job tomorrow.

Just spoken to my new boss, no problems with making a long weekend to visit mum.
