WTF is going on in the world? I bought a cheese and pickle cob from the van this morning and have discovered that some bright spark has added raw red onion to it! On Purpose! What's with the pretentious sh!t of adding raw onion to everything at the moment? *is disgusted*

This. There's a very nice independent coffee shop near here whose only major failing is they insist on putting at least one completely superfluous ingredient in every sandwich. Yesterday all their sandwiches had Apple in them. And I mean all of them. Cheese, pickle and apple. Tuna, sweetcorn and apple. Roast beef, horseradish mayo and apple.

Needless to say, their sandwiches don't seem to sell.

That strikes me as being a really, really dumb idea. I certainly wouldn't have bought any of them if they all contained apple, as I'm really not a fan of sweet things together with savoury.

Every day travelling home from work is a potential accident because people cannot read road markings/signs and/or stick to their own bloody lanes!

Lane 1 (red) and 2 (blue) are both signed for the A52 (2nd exit) but of course in lane 2 you could if you so wished turn right for exits 3 and 4. I tend to use lane 2.

So what should happen if you want the A52 is this:

What actually happens is this:

Every. Single. Day.

Reminds me of what happens near where I live.

There's a 30mph dual carriageway up to a roundabout, after which it's a 40mph DC. Roundabout has four exits in total. On approach, two lanes separate into three:
- left lane is for turning left into first exit or going on ahead to left lane of second exit.
- middle lane is for going on ahead onto right lane of second exit.
- right lane is for taking third or fourth exits.

Typically, drivers don't take the first exit, so what should happen is that left and middle lane drivers should go straight ahead whilst right hand driver takes right hand (third) exit, or U-turns on to fourth exit.

What actually happens is that left lane driver straddles left and middle lane around roundabout to take left lane of 2nd exit, right hand driver will take right hand lane of 2nd exit, and poor hapless driver in the middle risks a crash.

What makes it even more annoying is that the roundabout further on up has lane markings all the way round to make it easier.

My mum's got a new Lenovo laptop with Windows. The touch gestures are retarded - especially seeing as it doesn't have a touchscreen. Oh and the charms can kiss my ar$e

I've spent 5 hours so far ripping out unnecessary bullsh!t just so it is usable.

It really makes me yearn for Linux

Lenovo are paid to install crapware on their machines, allowing their prices to be more competitive. Sony were at least honest and offered to deliver their machines crapware free for an extra 50 quid. I installed my machine from scratch and it was crapware free - just the standard Windows apps installed, which can be quickly removed from the start screen - I don't need the Bing travel, music and sport apps, for example; I have no music loaded on my machine, not interested in sport or travel.

Might have been quicker just to re-install W8 from scratch

British Gas to raise prices by 9.2%

From the BBC:
Quote:
British Gas is to increase prices for domestic customers, with a dual-fuel bill going up by 9.2% from 23 November. The increase includes an 8.4% rise in gas prices and a 10.4% increase in electricity prices, British Gas's parent company Centrica said.

Thank yyyoooouuu.

Quote:
The company said it "understands the frustration" of prices rising faster than incomes.

Well that's OK then.

They just announced the electricity price increases here. Going up to 6.4c per KW/H next year, which is over a 10% increase.
