I'm also confused as to where gmt came from. Who decided it?

Really?

I believe there's a very good BBC show about its origins.

Or maybe, and this is just me thinking aloud, ...

... the clue is in the name?

I leave my clocks alone like you. My computers and iPhone adjusts automatically so use that as my main time keepers.

I changed the 3 clocks in the house that don't automatically adjust themselves before i went to bed. I just have to change my car clock.

Doh!

I reset my clocks last night before I went to bed but I apparently forgot that the one on the microwave was 24 hour so it thought it was 1900 hours when it was 7am.
Still, easy to spot and correct.

Phones, computers, etc. change themselves. The other clocks have to be done manually. The mechanical clocks were stopped for an hour this morning (if you have a clockwork clock, don't wind the hands backwards - it can damage the mechanism).

I tend not to bother with camera clocks. Why I need to know up to the second when a photo was taken is beyond me. The date is good enough.

Two things - one mantelpiece clock which being analogue is hardly surprising and my PS3, which doesn't even revert to GMT when you're using NTP. You to manually go in and switch daylight saving time off. Which is crap. Every other gizmo I have coped with it but not the PS3 :|.

I think Sony shares the same firmware team as Amazon - if you believed my Kindle's clock recently you'd be off looking for Alice in no time...

As usual, I'll be changing the time on the clock in the wife's car and that'll be the only one.

Or maybe I'll give her the instruction manual and stand back ;)

The car equivalent of fireworks? Light blue touchpaper.

Something like that lol. I'm sure she could do it herself and if not I know that our eleven year old daughter, who changed the clock in my car using the rather complicated menu system, would be able to do it for her.

There is the solution. Bribe your daughter with extra money to do it. Even 50p for the few minutes it will take her will be well worth it.
