My sister just rang me to say that she almost bought a laptop from PC World for £400 only to be told at the checkout that that price was laptop only and it wouldn't work unless she coughed up an extra £170 for an setup and recovery kit with Office and cloud storage!

Bunch of robbing country boys!

That is one for trading standards.

I'm annoyed that she phoned me after she walked out.

It would have been so much better if she had called you in-store and she bought it without the "essentials" and saved herself £170.

She didn't buy it - she told them to stick it and walked out.

So would I if offered that deal. Good for her.

Bloody Adobe CS! Upgraded to Mavericks and CS is complaining that Java 6 isn't installed... Well, no, it has been superceded by Java 7, which is installed... But no, it insists on having an outdated, security hole riddled version of Java installed in order to use Photoshop!

GAH!

Adobe and security : not a brilliant pairing right now, generally.

Certainly not selling me the idea of CC, despite their emails offering me discounts.

Nor me. I'm happy with CS4 anyway.

We have 5.1, but the CC Publisher version is very tempting as I would then get access to other bits that would be useful. Just the security puts me off.

The recent Adobe hack was apparently much worse than they originally thought - something like 9 million Adobe ID account details were stolen. Adobe's laid-back response, that being hacked is just an unfortunate side effect of running an online business these days, doesn't exactly fill me with confidence about signing up to CC.

It's bad enough that I hate my dad but sometimes my mum just winds me up. She knows it's the first time in twelve months that I've taken proper annual leave. So why has she decided that we should go visit her friend in hospital without speaking to me first? I've been at home this morning doing nothing important, went to gym and now decided to get ready before heading out to london to meet with friends I've not seen in a year.

If the silly bint had spoken to me yesterday or even this morning, we could have gone earlier. Now it makes me look selfish because I want to do something for myself.
