Apparently it's been delayed as the part of the US government that passes things as safe to sell is shut down. They're now estimating the start of November for the launch.

If that is not resolved then it could cause problems for Apple as well next week, unless they had everything certified before the shutdown.

Apple only posted their invites yesterday, when the shutdown had already been on for about two weeks. I doubt they'd do that on the gamble that things would get worked out in time if they didn't already have their ducks in a row. Plus as iPads aren't 'phones', they may not even require the same level of certification.

The LTE ones would still need the same/similar certification as handsets. WiFi only is not as stringent these days.

CPW had them available last night until 11pm, for £295, free delivery (and a voucher on top) and you could collect from store

It's still a teeny weeny little mobile, compared to my big ass Sony Xperia Z Ultra Photabletone - Pronounced "fo tab lee(silent t) tone ee"

The Note 3 is almost the right size for me.

To be honest, I'd be happy with a cheap MP3 player stick and my 11" tablet being my mobile 'phone'. I find my current Galaxy S3 a pain in the neck, I talk for maybe 2 minutes a month on the phone, but the display is too small to be very useful for email or web browsing. I basically use it as an MP3 player in the car and when walking the dog.

I have an iPhone and I would agree that is also too small for extended web browsing or email, but is a great size for use as a phone. I keep a lot of my mobile apps on it for when I go anywhere. The larger screens of some of the Phablets are great to browse on but make it a tough use as a phone. I am happy enough to have separate devices for these tasks.

I bought that for drawing on, for which it is absolutely brilliant. I know other people who have them but never even take out the pen. This thing's huge and ungainly and I can't understand their thinking at all.

There's rumours of a larger iPhone, see the Cool Toys thread's last page IIRC.

Exactly I will believe it when I see it.

If Apple do make a larger iPhone the sound of some people (not on this particular forum) going into reverse about phone size will be deafening.

Nearly as loud as the sound of those people who rubbished video calling when they discovered face time

Sent from my big ass Sony Xperia Z Ultra tabphonelet, using Tapatalk 4.
