I believe the Swiss (who have a direct plebiscite system) have a vote on doing the same coming up quite soon, if it hasn't already happened.

At the moment it is just individual cities voting on their local power suppliers. I haven't heard of any moves in my area to buy back from publicly run companies, although there are calls of profiteering and over pricing.

After all nuclear power and waste industry have shown themselves to be totally corrupt and inept (Gorleben), most German's want nuclear power less than the people near Fukushima.

Germany has been adding so much solar power generation recently that it makes a big source of electricity.

Solar can still generate energy during the winter, possibly not as much but some can still even if it is cloudy. They also have other power sources.
