Me. It's been about three weeks of trying and I'm still no closer to getting a company name that I think might work.

OH FOR THE LOVE OF SOMEONE ELSE'S GOD - HOW HARD IS IT TO SET UP A SIM?

Here’s my story. I bought a PS Vita a week or so ago. There are some good bundles cropping up, and I decided to plonk down for one. originally, they were WiFi only, but the bundles now are WiFi/3G at no extra cost.

So I have a Vita. And a Vodafone SIM card. And here is where my tale of woe begins.

I put the SIM in the Vita. No mobile network showed up. In the Network Operator app, I get a Vodafone logo, and all the other mobile phone network shows that Vodafone is good to go. However, from trawling on the net I learn that I need to get the SIM to be activated. So on Monday, I go into town. They take the SIM numbers from the card I had, tell me I have to top up and with the Vita (which I left at home thinking this would be a simple task), access the internet. All signs on the web pointed to this being the solution, so I thought I’d be OK.

But it wasn’t.

So I use Vodafone’s online email help. 48 hours later, they tell me to dial a number on my phone. Of course this being a Vita, it has no keypad or phone functions, I also have no phone I can put the SIM into.

Today, I take the Vita to my local Vodafone shop again. It took an hour for them to swap the SIM, check the credit, make sure it works but still no ability to connect to the internet, etc.. However, even though the Vita displays the Vodafone network, I have no ability to use the internet.

A protracted interaction with their online support Chat team tells me that THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG KIND OF SIM.

So I have to go back into town TODAY (as I’ll be away from tomorrow and hoping to take the Vita with me) as I have to get this sorted out. I did get an extra £5 credit as a “goodwill gesture” but, really.

I am [LIFTED] livid now.

I only half-joked about my old trading name, but it's there if you want it. I'm shutting up the design business at the end of the year, so you'd be welcome to take the name on. Seriously.

Got the SIM sorted. Finally got to speak to someone who had a clue. Seems that the SIM was set up Asa. Phone instead of a data device.

Also, he told me that Vodafone were having trouble with their PAYG Data sims not working properly, so I have to go back and do the next top up in store to to make sure it's working properly.

No attack words, but German. My family don't speak English.

Well attack words are probably not appropriate for a lapdog. Though having a dog that is bilingual would have advantages, especially when you have her off the lead and want any command to be unique to her.

Recieved an email from payroll saying they are taking £189 from my wages because they made a mistake when I sold some shares and they mixed up the tax free component with the taxable part.

Sort of. She is a Jack Russel Terrier / Havanese (Havanah?) cross breed.

Not sure what the breed is called in English, I can't find a site that will translate it. They are a small fur ball from the Mediterranean region that was taken over to Cuba and used to help seduce the local women in Havana, hence the name. They were, allegedly, a fairly rare breed until recently (at least in Germany), according to the central German dog breed website.
