I've been watching a lot of stand-ups and comedies recently on Netflix and I've realised there's nobody I'd actually pay to see   Is that just me? Or is there a bit of a comedic drought in terms of quality these days? ION, I'm bloody sick of comedians bringing up race. It's not like it's ever done in a clever or even subtle way, it's just a really bad attempt at holding interest, usually. Howard's fine on a half hour TV show, but I haven't been that impressed when I've caught his act on DVD or whatever  Minchin seems a great guy (he was good on QI recently for instance) but his act just doesn't hold my attention. I love Tim Minchin. I bought his album the other day.
I went to see Al Murray a few years ago. Wasn't bothered by it.
Got tickets for my bday to see Michael McIntyre about 4 years ago. Hilarious.
Went to see Stewart Lee about 3 weeks ago. Also very funny.

Last stand up I saw was Al Murray, and I really enjoyed his set.
Possibly because I live in a down at heel Tory seaside town, the audience really made it.

I've seen Russell Howard live before and he was indeed very funny but he has the problem, along with a great many other regulars on TV, that you tend to have seen/heard a large amount of their stuff on TV before you see them live so it doesn't seem that fresh.
I would (and have on many occasions) paid to see Eddie Izzard. He's great.
Saw Richard Herring a couple of weeks ago talking about how we're all going to die. Not bad but I'm not sure I'd pay to see him again.
Also saw Henning Wein a couple of months ago. Okay but nothing special.
I'd seriously like to see Dara O'Brian live and I'm a bit gutted I didn't realise Paul Merton and a group of other comedians were doing live improv stuff in Peterborough last month until it was too late to get tickets.

I'd love to see Dara O'Briain live. Have recently seen Ed Byrne and Dylan Moran who were both excellent live. I'd also love to see Ross Noble live, loved his last DVD. Got introduced to Ben Norris who is a new up and coming and he's very funny. My favourite will always be Kevin Bloody Wilson though. Saw him live last time he was in the UK and hurt from laughing!

I'd definitely go and see the following comedians given half a chance:
Eddie Izzard
Bill Bailey
Jimmy Carr (mostly to see if anyone is stupid enough to heckle him)
Simon Evans.

Went to see jack dee when he came to brum. Was awesome. A lot of "comedians" on panel shows have funny comments but don't seem to be as funny in their shows

Yeah, Moran would be good to see.
Am seeing Ed Byrne next week!
I seem to have seen a lot of comedians this year relative to previous years.

 +1 (but December) Off to see Greg Davies in a couple of weeks, so far this year seen: Josh Widdecomb (meh) Seann Walsh (supporting Josh, very funny, was on the NMTB this week) Mark Thomas (very funny having not seen anything apart from his tv shows many years ago) Mick Foley (ex WWE wrestler, mostly funny pro wrestling stories) Steffen Peddie (Big Keith on Hebburn), funny local comedian, not sure how well the jokes would travel elsewhere Billy Kirkwood, only a short set but very energetic and funny Of the list of acts seen this year so far my gf only knew of Josh Widdecomb, everything else was slightly spontaneous for deciding to go Good thing having a new comedy club open up. Makes it easier to see the fairly known names tour Get regular shows with Steffen and Billy hosting them for cheap to see upcoming comics Just seen Adam Hills was playing tonight, would have been interesting to see what his act was like And debating to go see Sarah Millican again, found her quite funny the first time we saw her at a 'home' show for her _________________TwitterCharlie Brooker: Macs are glorified Fisher-Price activity centres for adults; computers for scaredy cats too nervous to learn how proper computers work; computers for people who earnestly believe in feng shui.

Martin Ritter is very funny. He is best known here as the Dog Trainer (Hunder Profi), but he also does a one-man stand up show, which is very funny. He basically trains the owners of dogs and his show aims to do that with humour, pointing out how dogs think and how humans react and making people laugh gets them to think about what they are doing with their own dogs, without feeling that they are being preached at.

Well went to the Edinburgh Fringe over August so saw lots
Have seen (amongst others)
Billy Connolly – he made me laugh so hard I was in pain
Ed Byrne
Jack Dee – (and the panelise from I’m Sorry I haven’t a clue)
Bill Bailey
Eddy Izzard
Nicholas Parsons who was really good and didn’t need to swear once
Would like to see Al Murray, Tim Minchin, and Dara O’Briain
