Anyone else seen Thor II yet?

I loved it. Better in every way than the original and nice to see London taking centre stage.

Really?

I fell asleep. Right after the jail break. And we're running away... and we're still running... and stuffs blowing up... and zzzzzzz..... oh we're still running about, I don't appear to have missed anything.

That's the first positive comment on that film I have seen.

Ok, so who liked Iron Man 3? In a post-Avengers world, relationships are explored further and to be able to make the individual heroes relevant at all, is a triumph IMO. It would've been easy to just keep churning out Avengers movies. Or it would've been easy to just make crap movies to fill seats. They chose to explore Tony Stark in depth and did extremely well. With Thor II, they further delve into the family of Odin, there's a fantastic baddie from Christopher Eccleston, the location gives more of "man out of place" humour that the first one delivered and the romance between Jane and Thor is dialled back several notches. The action is superb, the themes of honour and responsibility are deepened, the end of the film leaves plenty to think about for future Marvel outings and really the only thing that was REALLY disappointing was the post credit sequence which was the lamest since Cap.

AFAIC Iron Man 3 was superb, this was very good but not on the same level and if Cap delivers second time around, Marvel will have done very well at fleshing out their characters, whilst entertaining us now AND keeping us interested in what Joss has to offer next time...

I liked IM3. It's not quite good enough to topple the first (IM is probably the best of the standalone Marvel films IMO), but at least it wasn't a studio-rushed load of crap like IM2.

I've enjoyed all the IM movies, but 3 was the weakest for me.

Thor > Thor II.
I'm looking forward to seeing The Winter Soldier.
