I think Charlie Brooker's look at video games is on Four at 9pm tonight, he chats to Dara and Wossy, should be a good laugh.

Hrmph. I was hoping for something vaguely interesting, not a brain-dead attempt to validate something by saying "Look, celebrities do this too, so it can't be ALL bad!"

I guess we'll have to see.

I think it goes on for two hours and is followed by Indie Game: The Movie, so it shouldn't be too lightweight. The Guardian has an article but I haven't had a chance to read it fully yet.

Likely to be old news now, but Sherlock returns on New Year's Day.

Actually, I love the idea of a 45min-ish Sin City spin off. Just about the perfect length to tell a comic book story, and I love the aesthetic.

Has the internet killed Have I Got News For You?

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio ... ws-for-you

Erm, 'no' to that headline. I don't especially read the satire online or what passes for it, and I doubt many do. HIGNFY has been on the slide for some time.

I think the constant jokey references to the lawyers have more than a hint of dissatisfaction about them, the guest hosts are often crap or there's a real problem around the autocue (so many of them can't be that bad, surely?), and quite often it's obvious the guests are afraid to say anything for whatever reason.

Ripper Street has been cancelled. What is the BBC thinking?

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio ... celled-bbc

I personally think the Beeb's costume efforts are overblown crap, but should it really be in a ratings war? Especially a chalk and cheese one?

It was very good, and had some readings from The Prince by a surprise actor.
