What is the rule? I read the article but I couldn't work out what the rule was. Apart from the boss saying so. Is there an actual reason?

Poppies, Comic relief and Sport relief (which appear to duplicate Children in Need in many places) all could come with a "political agenda" which I suspect is the concern for this action. Norton, by being the host, is a BBC representative and should be seen as being neutral in such matters.
