I wonder whether people have finally gotten bored of the same old thing? I bought Ghosts on a whim because I had vouchers. Some of my online friends bought it and some didn't. Two wanted to get a PS4 first. For the first few years, everything was good - Mw2, BLOPS, but then MW3 came out which was a bit repetitive, BLOPS2 was more fun but still repetitive and certainly by this time, a lot of friends had become bored with the whole franchise, me included. Hence once I reached prestige master, I stopped playing.

BLOPS was the last truly good game IMO, whether SP or MP (haven't played Ghosts yet). It's the same thing every year, so making it worse by having a crap story or overcomplicating the MP will see sales nosedive right and quick. Oh, and the maps have been atrocious.

The repetitive nature of the games compared to the old games must be a factor, but has there been a problem with it being buggy?

You'll wait months before the game's patched to an 'acceptable' standard, usually. Then it's continual minor fixes for months afterwards.

BLOPS SP was terrible!

They ran out of ideas after MW, and managed to get away with MW2. It's the same story with MOH.

From a MP point of view, they could have achieved the same by sticking with MW and issuing new maps and content on a DLC basis.

People are getting sick of paying full price for a four hour SP campaign and a few MP maps.

I liked BLOPS sp cos it was different enough to what had came before. That was the last time that happened...
