Have been Twitter ranting today. My new Xbox One controller is broken (issues with left thumb stick) and looking on the Internets I'm not the only one. MS have admitted a fault on the phone but a) want a one month turnaround to swap it and b) refuse to pay the return postage (which they have an obligation to do so).
I am not a happy bunny.

Point out that they're legally obliged to pay. Mention the small claims court (not that it's worth the cost, but it's still motivation for MS).

Did you buy it from Microsoft direct? If not it's the retailer that is obliged by SOGA, not the manufacturer

Spoke to MS this afternoon. Told them this exact thing and after a call back they agreed it's the retailer i.e. the MS Store Direct that my rights fall with. The only problem is I'd have to send back the entire thing not just the controller.
By way of apology they've given me a £20 off voucher for the MS store and I'm following up a replacement pad with Xbox Support which still sucks a little as I'm expecting to be without a pad for 10-15 days and at least initially I'll have to pay the postage costs to return it.

I really can't take much more of this retardedness I really am starting to think that I've wandered onto the set of a really messed-up zombie-based reality TV show where the main stars spend each day trying to make as many f***-ups as possible. Me: "For various reasons, it took me the best part of a day to convert their database tables for the test system. It'll take even longer for the live system"Project Manager: "So does that mean they'll be down all day, or will they be back up just after lunch?"Me:

I'm getting really pissed off with Google's 'We'll link all your accounts to our benefit and your detriment'

What's the point in cheating in Call of Duty online? I mean what do you get from that?

I'm hating google's attempt at "unifying" services.
As for cheating, I really don't understand either. When I bought BLOPS 2, within a few weeks there were prestige masters. Now some of them were genuine, but the majority were horrendous at gameplay.

Blops. It's only recently too. Unless I'm mistaken, people who can only be killed by knifing n'all.

Gah! Got invited round to my sister and her inlaws. Was fun for about an hour and slowly progressed into boredom until I reached a stage where I just couldn't handle it anymore* and decided to leave. Six hours after first arriving.
* you know that stage of boredom where your mind has lost all keenness and you've lost the will and ability to think? That's the point I had reached.

Radio tax ads - 'Visit yada yada yada, avoid a £100 fine and don't forget to pay what you owe.'
Yeah, how about you sink the cost of the ads into closing a few loopholes, eh?

I've noticed that anything I've liked or commented on on YouTube has been broadcast to the world on Google+ which I've never signed up for. Now I seem to get emails from people because of that.
