Is this Grylls/Fry thing worth watching? Even the 'highlights' don't look that exciting :?

Speed with Guy Martin is much better! It's possibly what Top Gear needs a bit more of.

I used to love watching Bird, Bremner and Fortune. It introduced me to satire and it also educated me as I became a little more interested in politics as a result.

He will be missed.

Just hearing the name George Parr always made me laugh.

Does anyone else feel Cheers has more of a late 70s feel than an 80s feel? I've been watchin it and surprised to learn it was made in the 80s. It feels similar to Mork & Mindy.

Maybe it's just cos it's been so long but I found the pacing of it really annoying, it just didn't 'gel' for me :?

Have you actually enjoyed ANYTHING that you have watched recently?
Any post you make either here or in the film thread you seem to dislike pretty much everything, for one reason or another. (8+\

Yeah, The Last Stand was good, as was Detroit 187, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead... I call 'em as I see 'em :?

You do seem to be on a bit of a downer where it comes to films and telly just lately, ernie. Not a criticism, merely an observation.

For what it's worth, both the wife and I thought that Sherlock was more than worth the wait.

Thinking about it, I wonder if this is the reason that Doctor Who hasn't been as good as I'd like of late. Maybe somebody has been spending too much time writing these stories and not enough time working on the time traveller...

I thought Sherlock as a bit too... wrapped up in itself to be honest. Too knowing almost. Too obviously playing with it's own mythology, winking to the audience as it did so. And let's be honest the 'case' in this one was pretty rudimentary by Holmes standards.

I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was just 'first episode of series 2' disease and it's got it all out of it's system now, and future episodes will be back to actual detective work and things that make your brain slightly hurt. Because if it spends the whole of the next series basically mugging at the screen and saying 'ho ho ho! did you see what we did there? wasn't it clever? We had you there didn't we?' I'm going to be gone long before it finishes.
