Hi

Since I've upgraded to Mavericks, I can't get my old scanner to work through Image Capture using the Twain Sane back end thingys (apparently Apple made it more difficult to get Twain working with IC).... does anyone know which other apps will let you scan with Twain?

Or for that matter, a good scanning app whig might support an old HP Scanjet 4300?!

Thanks!

Ben

I've manage to get a scan going in Photoshop now by starting it in 32 bit mode... bit of a faff having to change that to scan, but it'll do for now!

I have used Vuescan for scanners that have fallen out of support from the manufacturer before now. Dunno how it plays on Mavericks though.

I did look at that one, but mine wasn't in the supported list, so didn't fancy risking it.... couldn't see if there was demo one....

Nope. Doesn't see the scanner. Think it might be easier to get a new one.... :(

(It is pretty ancient to be fair, but was fine for my needs...)

Depending on your requirements, I can recommend Doxie's kit. Very convenient but not really 'pro' in any way.

Needs to be flatbed ideally, but thanks anyway!
