Police in Berlin have found 140Kg of Cocaine in boxes of bananas delivered to Aldi stores in the city! http://www.rbb-online.de/panorama/beitr ... deckt.html According to police, this is the biggest drug siezure for years, with a street value of around 6 millio Euros! Workers in the store found the bananas as they were unpacking the cases and informed the police. Drugs were found in 7 cases in total. The police traced it back to a consignment coming through Hamburg, the cases were transported by HGV to Moabit, a fruit and veg wholesaler, before being delivered to Aldi. All other cases in the consignment were clear. Police and Customs believe that the smugglers were not quick enough to intercept the container as it arrived in Germany...

Clearly some rather angry drug smugglers who will now know better to risk shipping it in a supermarket consignment. Supermarkets are very efficient at moving stock directly to the stores so it could have been in and out of a warehouse within hours or even minutes.  _________________Do concentrate, 007... Right now they'd only have to undercut Tesco even slightly to make a small fortune - our 'shipping tax' or however they wanna justify it is a disgrace.
