Having found out that a large-ish chunk of the company is at risk, I've just had a phone call. It was the Operations Manager thanking me for my last six months of effort, that I deserve my holiday for stepping forward every time he had an emergency, and that he was ordering me to start on the holiday beers. One doesn't like to disappoint... ...  _________________Jim

One of the bosses from the US is visiting this week. He sometimes hands out treats. This morning it was my turn and he gave me a Kindle Fire HD.

Thanks to those stupid 500 errors the forum's been giving out today.
I have to use my mod powers to delete a lot of double (even tripple) posts recently.

Mended my pillar drill with replacement drive belt.
Ordered trestles and shelves for the workshop.
Got replacement parts for a kit I'm building from a friend who didn't need them.
Apart from the central heating being fubar, I count that as winning.
