Why is movie piracy a federal crime anyway? I can't help thinking the FBI would have better things to do, especially if they're gonna fcuk it up like this.

I can't imagine it taking three hours for them to connect to it and find out there was no recording on there.

I think it is that the MPAA have managed to pay enough politicians to have it declared a federal crime that allows the FBI to get involved. Also many cinemas have camera sensors to stop films being pirated in the cinema, though as his Google Glass was powered down that would be the reason.
