PlayStation Now won't come to the UK until Sony 'learns' from US

http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/pl ... us-1220477

It'll still require massive 'updates'.

Microsoft may launch a cheaper Xbox One console in 2014, reports claim

http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/co ... im-1220736

Quote:
The report follows rumours this week claiming Microsoft plans to go public with the white version of the console later this year, which may hit the market with or without an optical drive and a bluetooth adapter.

If the company follows through...

That's exactly what they'll be doing in that instance

Microsoft considering legal action against Xbox One leaker

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/44 ... ne-leaker/

I wonder if that translates as, 'FFS, we could have shifted some of this stock only for you!'

Maybe he was too accurate?

Nintendo is open to mergers or acquisitions, says Iwata

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/44 ... ays-iwata/

They might buy games developers but they'd need to be stone broke before they'd merge with anyone else. And the last time they partnered they created Sony's games division

Xbox One digital deals to be 'tested' starting tomorrow

Quote:
The news was announced on Twitter by Xbox studio manager Mike Ybarra, who stated the temporary price drop was a response to player feedback.

"Lot of people asked for better deals on our digital marketplace," Ybarra said, "So we're testing some, and [from] 2/18 through 2/24 you can get Ryse: Son of Rome off digital marketplace for $39.99. Special deal on add ons starts 2/25."

He added: "That's far better than the used price at GameStop and others! Go digital!"

Ybarra also stated that he was "99.9% sure the UK price will be the equivalent", but added that he has to check this and will confirm later today.

At the moment Ryse costs £49.99 on the UK Xbox One games store

Just got off the phone with Microsoft in the US of A. I'd sent a letter to a senior exec in the UK highlighting the issue with Xbox One controllers (http://planet-veato.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/is-there-problem-with-xbox-one.html) and noted my displeasure at having to cover postage to send them back each time one breaks - which is ALL the time.

Apparently I'll be refunded my postage costs x 2 in MS points and another free controller will be making its way to me.

Whilst this isn't filling full of MS love (MS points and another controller to break!) she also seemed to suggest the issues with the controller and postage charges are being raised with executives and that I've got an open line with her to corporate office to discuss this and any further issues.

Not sure what to make of it all really.

Sounds like you got a good dral as well as a contact if there are any further isssues. As for the problem with the controller could be a serious quality control failure in production.

UK PS4 supply drought will end by April, claims Sony exec

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/45 ... sony-exec/

I've often wondered if they'd have sold so many if the One (sniggers) didn't make it seem like a bargain.

Mind you, MS did take anti-tank weaponry to their own feet in the launch build-up, and Sony haven't came through with many of the PS4's supposed features yet...

Xbox One gets price cut to £399 – with free copy of Titanfall

They needed to do something. I wouldn't be surprised if they had this figured almost from the get-go.
