Other than alerts to your phone in certain instances or adjusting your heating I can think of no real point to 'The Internet of Things'. It's not going to set the world alight and there won't be any real need for any of your devices to talk to each other, just you. The robot servants are some time away yet :(

Wearable tech is currently an attempt at creating a market. One that's likely to fail hard on current evidence.
