When you don't have anything original to make into a film or interesting to say the easiest and laziest thing to do is repeat what has gone before.

Donnie Darko 2.

Sweet mother of God, why?

I haven't seen Donnie Darko, so I'm guessing I haven't missed anything.

Transformers 2, Jurassic Park 2 and 3 (OK, JP1 wasn't that bad, but the sequels where just cash-cows)

I loved Transformers 2, but the other two Jurassic Parks weren't up to much!! Otherwise I reckon that Starship Troopers sequel was a waste of so much tape!!

Apparently The Life Of Brian was nearly called Jesus: A lust for power.

Maybe I just don't "get it", but I thought it was rather fudged up and boring...

@ Professor F. I'm guessing that you consider DD2 to be unnecessary because you can't top the original. Fair enough.

I have heard of it and that's all I can say. I don't even know (without looking it up) who's in it or what it's about.

The thing about Donnie Darko is that there is no room for a sequel.

What happened happened and it was all resolved.

How could there be a sequel when the story was over?

Never stopped them before - a famously bad example being the sequel to The Poseidon Adventure.
