Assuming I have to work to 70 to get a pension I'll retire in 2049.

70? I'm hoping to make a big change in 5 years!

What I'm hoping for and what will probably happen are two very different things.

I enjoy working too much to retire too early, saying that though the next few years will have some major changes

Same here, I really like my job, my industry is in its infancy so there's very few people doing it and it's growing. I'm staying optimistic :D

Well I did say change and not retire. I certainly don't want to be commuting and living in London after 50. I'm getting what I can while it's good.

What you're planning is a lot of hard work & even longer hours than you do now. I'd take the commuting option every time

You sound like my father-in-law. He loves work so much he didn't even retire on time.

I think if you're lucky to find a good employer, doing a job you're good at with good opportunities, long hours and retiring doesn't matter as much.
I get to work on pretty cool buildings (inc. currently the biggest brick building in London and Europe) so as long as I keep having fun I'm staying put.

Why are all my colleagues completely illiterate?

I don't so much mind the odd spelling error or grammar-related hiccup but these guys are generating mind-bending metaphysical bollocks:

Didn't realise how power hungry the satnav/apple maps thing on my phone was. 68% from a fully charged battery and it needs to last me until 5pm. Had better turn off 3g.

Dear Hotmail (or Outlook as you're called these days).
My phone number is none of your business. How dare you demand to have it or block me from my account!

Twice last night while driving I had to deal with joggers running along in the road. Stick to the pavements you knob-ends!
