Manufacturer customisation is a good thing. I love HTC's email and message apps. The built in ones that came with my wife's Nexus 5 just annoy me.

I do. My HTC also has more settings via the quick access bar at the top, and more useful settings widgets. Much more user friendly than vanilla Android.

Oooooh, big generalisation. I do like customising but my wife, who has the Galaxy S4, couldn't care less. If I didn't upgrade her phone it would never get done. She likes Android because it's better, (in her opinion) than her old iPhone. I say she likes Android... No. Actually, she doesn't "like" Android. Yes it was a big generalisation, but there are also many who have never upgraded their OS. As you say if it does what they want that is the important thing. _________________Do concentrate, 007... Just get a different one and hide the stock one.
