Quite right too. Nobody wants a crap net connection in this day and age.

Not something I though about when I last moved. I just assumed anything would be better than the 512kb connection I had in the previous house.
As it turned out I've got the local exchange at the end of my back garden. Full speed ADSL for me.

Annyoingly the exchange now has fibre, but BT haven't enabled the green box down the road that my house uses.
If I wanted I could get cable, which wasn't an option at the old house.

It's not a massive deal breaker but I would prefer to live somewhere with faster broadband. I'm in central Birmingham and yet the max I can get is 3-meg, with 2.5-2.7 more typical. Annoying cuz it's not fast enough for proper streaming for the likes of netflix.

Where I am now. Almost as fast as the real speeds I get back home.

I wouldn't move anywhere where I couldn't get a decent and reliable broadband service.

I get 38 down, 8 up, but to be honest, I use much less bandwidth these days than I did 4 or 5 years ago.

Trying to dream HD iPlayer stuff last night. Kept on spooling. We’re on some kind of “20 things starting with ‘M’ per second” connection too.

Can anyone spot the problem with the connection in the office?

(Ignore the distance to the server, that's actually the closest one to me.)

Are you the only Person in the office? If not, then I can't see anything wrong.

The speedtest shows how much capacity is available, not necessarily the line speed.

Also, you should never run something like speedtest hat work, unless you have permission.

I liked 3.58 Mb download and still faster than 53% of US users.
