Another work related rant I'm afraid. [LIFTED] useless lazy colleague has spoken to my boss about the amount of teaching cover I've been doing. Which meant that today, we had a class left unsupervised while they're meant to be prepping for a shoot on Dartmoor in 3 weeks. This is the first time they've ever done it, and they really need guidance. Why did he complain? Because he spends his days scanning his old negatives and prints, uploading images to Alamy and generally sliding by under the radar. Students were looking for him as they needed help with something, and I found him, on Alamy, in the office with the door locked. Doing basically anything but, you know, the job he's employed to do. He's been slipping out of work an hour early for the last two weeks too. He's on more money than me, does less work than me, and then spits the dummy because when I'm not around he actually has to do his job. Add to this, the file we keep of disposal forms which helps explain when and why equipment was disposed of has magically vanished from the shelf above his desk. Odd timing, when the accounts staff are starting their annual inventory and audit, and there's numerous bits and pieces I can clearly recall seeing in the department this year but are now nowhere to be seen. What's adding to the irritation is that our department head has seen fit to back his complaint. [LIFTED] irritating as [LIFTED]. Not only does this mean he's setting up students to fail because he's lazy, it's also going to hit me in the pocket as I'll lose the top up rate for the cover. [LIFTED].

Are HR going to get an anonymous letter about all this?

Should the fact that this behaviour precedes his current situation - his mother being treated for cancer and he's looking into hospice care - take precedence, or would I just be an absolute [LIFTED] for dropping him in it right at this moment?

Sorry, but life outside work is no excuse for what he's doing at work.

Agreed, if he was just being somewhat withdrawn and a bit unhelpful (especially if doing things expressly related to sorting things out) then dropping him in it would be pretty cruel in my view, but trying to drop you in the [LIFTED] and stealing stuff is really not excusable.

Piss eggs A whole morning's stock reconcilliation from the beginning of the product's life. 2000 pallet transactions. Wrong date range...

Four attempts just to get logged into PSN - you'd never know the 'tards had a game launching.

XBL isn't doing any better. Can't access the store, multiplayer, etc unless I full reboot the console. Until next time I turn it on when it's reverted to not working again.

I'm sad to say that this didn't come as surprise.
