I started listening to Iron Maiden and Marilyn Manson again today, the new album of the latter is a bit crap bar a few select tracks

I've not listened to Maiden for ages, and I probably wont until someone else brings it up. I wish I'd seen one their rather spectacular gigs though. Killers was one of the very first albums I bought, but it's on the most unbelievably low quality cassette I've ever seen. You can totally see through the pale brown rusty crap it's made of, but the recording level is so high throughout that it's actually tolerable.

I absolutely love Manson, but I've not bought or even heard anything for ages. The last one I bought had a DVD with all the videos on - that still makes me happy, although some of my guests cringe :D

Me too. I've been on the Cornish Rattler, it's lethal. 2 or 3 bottles and I'm gone. :?

What's your excuse? I've heard you can get it in Taunton, which is good for me if I ever decide to move back there. :D

Not being old enough to buy it last summer, and I haven't had a look to see if we have it again... :P

My mate's missus works at the brewery ;)

It's sunny today, which is awesome! I'm visiting a local vineyard for work and my Specsavers appt this morning will involve Amanda. Despite the fact she probably has a bloke and doesn't even see me in that way, she's always makes me happy

I can't believe I haven't got to this thread yet....Great Subject JJ *hug*

I'm pretty much perpetually happy, and have been for most of my life, I can see the positive in just about any situation which I think is a good thing, although I know it irritates some people. So, my current list of "Happy" has really been ongoing since the start of 2008 which was one of the best years on record to date:

* I met and am deeply loving a wonderful man who is everything to me, my best friend and most trusted confidante, my little ray of sunshine and my link to the real world when I'm flying too high.
* I started working for the company of my dreams, doing the job of my dreams and here I am over a year later still completely loving the challenge it brings every day. I love the people I work with and for, I have passion for what I do and I am appreciated and rewarded accordingly, it makes such a difference to life doing a job you love.
* I have finally got to a place in my life where I am able to (mostly) stand up for what I want or don't want, without being consumed by guilt and/or anger, particularly with my family.
* I have the car I've always wanted, I love owning a classic car and all the idiosyncracies that go with it, every drive is an experience and considering how much driving I do, that's a real bonus.
* I love my homelife, our little fishy and furry family are always captivating and it's them I love going "home" to every night
* I love our little house. Less so since the fishwife and her family moved in next door with their demented chicken, but I love that we have a little loft of our own, it's quiet a lot of the time, we can turn up the speakers without bothering anyone and in the event of Zombie attack we'll be snug and safe, in the middle of nowhere, a latched gate and narrow staircase, unscaleable walls, unbreakable windows and (as a last resort) a den in the loft with a retractable ladder
* I'm really looking forward to spending Xmas in Egypt with the man of my dreams. I've never been in a relationship where I could unreservedly look forward to a holiday, there's always been so much drama and stropping happening that it takes the shone off my enjoyment.
* Lastly, but by no means leastly, I think I have finally got into a position to sort my finances out, once and for all, get some saving done and start living with a bit of breathing space, rather than hand-to-mouth as I have done all my life. I finally have decent enough pay to make this a reality.

Happy Friday Everyone xx

I installed Ubuntu on my PC instead of openSUSE 11.1.

It's f***ing brilliant!

SUSE can kiss my chuddies.

Edit: Oh and I'm mentioning Maiden again so JJW, go and listen!

Happy thought of the now: I can sleep as long as I like tonight, although some time after noon and before 5pm would be a nice time to wake up.

My batteries are charging. I just need to find the right wire, and then I can plug my 1980s Sony Walkman into my PC and play the tape. That Walkman was probably the best value Hi(ish)Fi kit I ever bought - I think it was about £15 and it's possibly the only working K7 player on the street!

Oh, totally with you on Suse - but I can't talk about it on a happy thread :D

Update from me from yesterday. In what appears to be a complete fluke - Amanda from Specsavers forgot to give me my prescription before I left the store, found my number on the computer and text me to let me know. I a similarly one-off manner I decided to jump on it and have been texting her back and forth ever since. We are gonna go shopping for the day next week  I still have no idea if she has a bloke or what her deal is, but I don't really care because I've got butterflies for the first time in ages.

Should probably go in KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK's thread, but it's making me very happy right now - so I'll put it here :D

Zippy, people like yourself do sometimes annoy me, but reading your post was geniunely lovely. Good for you :)

+1

Go for it son...

Reasons to be happy? Well the house moving seems to be going through OK, albeit slowly. I'm really looking forward to moving - it's like a new chapter in life begins. Mrs Ardub is also chuffed, and is demonstrating such by taking a keen interest in expensive curtains...

This particularly tickles me, good one.

My good news: Think I'm set to be going to Hull University next year after 2 years of hell at Bridlington College. BAE will suffer for that.

No major computer problems atm, everything is just working, even spotify which turns into a stuttery mess on the evenings.
