There's a fair bit of that trailer which actually comes from the previous series. The stuff with Yoda is all new though.

Seems as though the expanded universe is not canon when it comes to the Star Wars films, so it's likely to be totally ignored for the live action films.
Probably not what Mara Jade fans wanted to hear.

People are banging on about how it is disrespectful of of the work that the people in the expanded universe created.
What a steaming pile of horse manure that is.
That work will still exist. All that has happened is that they aren't going to include it in the live action film mythology, it can still be used in the animated films, because as far as I'm aware that hasn't been included in this jettison.

I am very much interested* so long as any references to the abysmal prequels are minimised ;)

* I've never been the biggest SW fan, but the originals are enjoyable and a ridiculously strong foundation for a director like JJ at his best (I don't know what happened with ST: Into Darkness).
