Good Morning all

Working from home as estate flooded so cant get out

And you can tell its bad - Ed Miliband has just turned up :o

And now out local MP has turned up

Now if they would only bring pumps / sandbags with them we might be plkeased to see them

Water 10 yards away now

Morning!
have you put furniture, valuable stuff away? even lifting things on bricks may make a difference :S good luck

We have talked it through and know what needs to move and where it will go - in reality its not the odd sofa thats the issue its the fact that all the floors would need to be replaced, the kitchen units rplaced and the walls re-plastered rather than a few £'00 for a new sofa / TV unit

Afternoon all,

Talk about a wasted morning. Went into work to invigilate an exam, but the students didn't turn up. Went to a work based learner, to do an exam, but because someone had taken the laptop I planned to take, (these exams have to be booked onto specific laptops, and won't appear on any other machines) I had to quickly book the exam on the spare laptop. Arrived on site and sat around for two hours, doing nothing, as the exam wouldn't download. Gave up in the end and agreed with the student that someone will be back next week to do the exam.

He didn't mind, but I did. Completely wasted morning.

On the bright side, the wife got her promotion, so she's now in charge of the apps team. This probably means that I won't get my transfer, (to the same team) even though there is no policy in place to prevent it, and as such I'll probably have to get a new job. Oh well, sith happens.

Have a great day everyone.

:)

Sleeping with the boss would get the team talking :S even if it's a bummer, probably best to not work in same team..

She has been my unofficial boss for the last year or so, and everyone in the place knows we are married. They also know I am well under the thumb and far from getting preferential treatment, I actually get more stick, as I have to go home with her! There is literally no escape. ;)

I am looking forward to seeing if I do get in though. If I don't I'l be straight onto the unions, as I could name half a dozen couples who work in the same team, (and I'm talking about lead managers being married to team leaders, etc)

Anyway, I'm applying for jobs in IT again, as I have had enough of the constant BS I'm getting from the powers that be in this place.
