PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sales: will 2014 boom, or bust?

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/b ... -boom-bust

I predict they'll boom what with prices dropping every month, sometimes every fortnight! Good games are coming, the indie scene, apps, game rental and streaming, social [LIFTED] for those who desire it, entire 'demographics' who now play games...

I'm not so convinced that the latest and greatest are either 'sold out' or 'flying off the shelves'. There's been way too many price drops and deals already within just six months.

So long as they don't announce it like they're doing you a favour...

I'm just thinking Kinect and it's associated problems are basically Windows 8 for Xbox users

Xbox One will become more powerful without Kinect, confirms Microsoft

I'm a bit baffled by that - your game and/or system may or may not operate better depending on Kinect being engaged on your system? :?

Or it could just be that everything's delayed and there's only two or three games worth buying once they've been discounted... it's hardly a surprise that people turn to mobile games in that context. Oh, and Japan has historically gone nuts for portable consoles and gaming.

And while I'm ranting, have you seen how quickly bundles and price drops have been introduced this generation? It's hardly worth jumping now when the release schedules are so crap.

It might be too late for them, frankly.
