http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014 ... s-mondelezThat's a joke from all concerned - they avoid any real action, get good PR, make pretty much the same amount of money for less product, and even more soon enough with the annual price rise. Most of that goes for the government too

The cap is more than their standard sized bars are anyway. It's an utter joke.

I eat a fair few of Cadbury's bars despite the fact the chocolate now tastes crap compared to what they produced when their dairy milk bars came wrapped in foil. I don't recall any bars that exceeded around 230kcals. The bars that do exceed this are those "bar and a half" and I'm certainly guilty of eating those in one sitting.

So I will rather than buy one reasonable sized bar (at say 320 Cal) I will now buy two small bars (at 250 Cal each). So this will FORCE me to take in more calories, get obese, have a heart attack and die and its all Candbury's fault - where is my lawyer

I agree with the point, but the fact is Cadbury have been slimming their bars down without telling anyone since they got bought out by Kraft. Their bars used to be 50g, they're now (I think) 37g for the same price. The result is while their bar used to be about 320KCal, they're now actually just under 250, so while they've announced 'we're making all our bars less than 250Kcal to keep you all healthy' what they actually should say is 'all our bars are less than 250Kcal because we've been selling you less chocolate for your money for a while'. Their chocolate has also dropped in quality since Kraft came in IMO, I don't have the numbers but I suspect there's less cocoa solids in there, and more chemical crap. Basically, Kraft are ****ing up Cadbury big style and if there were any actual competition for them (Rowntrees 'chocolate' barely deserves the name even legally, let alone in quality terms) they'd be a basket case. If some of the smaller chocolate makers get their act together, they may end up with one of those eating their lunch.

I don't get how anyone can eat the new cadbury, it's just so sweet and fake tasting. I haven't eaten a chocolate bar in months, since an interesting orange Aero.

Cadbury chocolate is now as crap as Nestle chocolate. The only Nestle product I will buy is a Yorkie Biscuit & Raisin.

Bothersome for me is that Green and Blacks is owned by Cadburys, which happens to be one of my favourite chocolates. I think that the stuff that comes in the purple wrappings is about as far removed from proper chocolate as you can get.

G&B is still actually half decent, they've not messed with it too much yet. I'm currently quite liking Montezuma.
