I think I heard the Knightfall one. They also did a 'Independence Day - as in Will Smith - from the UK perspective' one that was actually quite good. ID4 UK, I think it was called.

Cool! Jesus, when you think of Radio 1 today...

For reasons unknown he never did appear in any form, but 60s TV Batman was to have Two-Face as a TV commentator who had a TV blow up and scar one side of his face

Despite Early Sales Slump, Comics Retailers Remain Upbeat
http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-t ... pbeat.html

I've certainly been turning to smaller publishers - the big two's respective stables are ridiculously incestuous, hence the continual reboots. Stop with the crossover events! Justice League events make for baffling plot details elsewhere, never mind Marvel's countless Spider-Folk and Hulks, to name just two.

Greg Rucka's stuff is continually brilliant, no matter what genre, IDW will have something for you (crime and other noir, horror and mystery, brilliant old skool reboots, Dredd, TMNT) maybe more than you could ever read... It's time DC/Marvel started streamlining, especially if they want new customers. Nobody wants to undertake a degree just to get the gist of a single issue!

Thor is going to be....a woman.

Official Press Release

Marvel is excited to announce an all-new era for the God of Thunder in brand new series, THOR, written by Jason Aaron (Thor: God of Thunder, Original Sin) complimented with art from Russell Dauterman (Cyclops).

This October, Marvel Comics evolves once again in one of the most shocking and exciting changes ever to shake one of Marvel’s “big three” – Captain America, Iron Man and Thor – Marvel Comics will be introducing an all-new THOR, GOD OF THUNDER. No longer is the classic male hero able to hold the mighty hammer, Mjölnir, a brand new female hero will emerge who will be worthy of the name THOR. Who is she? Where did she come from and what is her connection to Asgard and the Marvel Universe?

More here.

That 'artwork' is laughable. It's possibly the most cynical move Marvel's ever made, and that's saying something.

The big three? What are they talking about? Are they the biggest of the reboots now?

'The only Thor'. Until we reboot once again, sales figures drop, or we realise we can run two versions. If not more.

Honestly, if this is how you treat your fans, why the hell should anyone else buy your books?

I've always thought that any one can weild Thor's hammer as long as they were pure of heart.

The original Saga doesn't mention that. That says mjolnir was created by two dwarf smiths for a bet and then presented to Thor i.e. it wasn't created for any specific person or purpose. Marvel lore might have it different though.

Sorry, yeah, I was talking Marvel lore, not the actual myth.

Well it's going to kick a whole set of Marvel related double entendres about Thor's Mighty Hammer out the window for one thing.

The Justice League has now taken on the worst excesses of Marvel - over 20 characters on a double spread, continually, and mostly interspersed with around 15 characters all talking amongst themselves during a misunderstanding fight you've long forgotten the reasons for. And it's dull anyway. This stuff was laughed out in the eighties!

It's really bad when Geoff Johns is the writer for this sh1t

I'd never considered this magazine until I saw that cover; it's by a freelancer, Paul Loudon from Manchester.
